My name is Meg Takahashi, and I’m a first-year at Bard College Conservatory with an interest in majoring in Political Theory. I began playing the flute in fifth grade, and since then I have continued to study the flute both in America and Japan, since I grew up between the two countries. In high school I played in the Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley, many of my school’s ensembles, and attended summer programs such as the Philadelphia International Music Festival and the Oberlin Flute Academy. I placed in first chair in my junior and senior years of high school at Pennsylvania Music Educators Association all-state orchestra and all-state band respectively. I have been volunteering at my local Community Music School since eighth grade participating in various outreach initiatives.
